Congregation Beth Am
Beit R’fuah Support Group, Potluck Film Screening of No Letting Go and Discussion
Our February meeting will begin with our usual potluck dinner and socializing to be followed by group sharing.
No Letting Go is a powerful film and true life story about a young boy who struggles with a debilitating mental illness. His family struggles with him as family life begins to unravel. His mother is determined to get help for her son and risk everything to keep the family together. The film highlights the importance of early intervention and treatment of mental illness. One in five people experience a mental health crisis, and some are not diagnosed for years as the illness progresses. The film depicts what families go through and how the outcome can be a time for family growth and connection.
Beit R’fuah, House of Healing, welcomes all — Beth Am members or not, Jewish or not — who are coping with mental illness themselves or who provide support for family and friends who are dealing with mental illness. For more information, email Mental Health.
Potluck starts 6pm followed by 6.45 Film screening and discussion.
